I know summer can be a scary time for those of us with a
little extra chub; legs are out and sleeveless dresses are in. But you don’t
have to be afraid! I dare you to challenge yourself this summer, step out of
your comfort zone and into some super cute clothes. Stop worrying about what
others think and focus on knowing that you look incredible. Rock the thunder
thighs and show off your amazing body whatever size or shape you are. To help
you along in your journey, I’ve picked out some of my favourite trends of
moment that are perfectly suited to us chunkier gals.
1. Wrap Dresses
Wrap Dresses are your saviour for any occasion, whether that
be a date night, a day in the beer garden or a lunch with the family. They
sweep across your stomach drawing attention to the smallest part of your waist,
which is very flattering! I like to style them with some bold tassel earrings
and heels for a sleek evening look.
2. T-shirt dresses
These are perfect for a more
casual day. I like to style them with a pair of trainers and an oversized denim
jacket for the perfect chilled vibe. T-shirt dresses are a saviour for when it’s
really hot out, as they don’t cling to the body and flow over any lumps or
bumps that you might feel conscious about.
3. Cycling Shorts
Ok, so I know this is a bit out there, and will be out of
most people’s comfort zones! But cycling shorts are a cute way of solving the age-old
issue of chub rub! Styled with a really oversized t-shirt, trainers and a big
old pair of sunnies they look super edgy and cool. My legs are my biggest gripe
when it comes to deciding what to wear, but fuck it! Cycling shorts are a cool
trend that even us chunky gals can look hot in (just look at these amazing plus
models rocking them!)
I’ll end this post by saying that everyone is beautiful, no
matter if you are big or small, slim or a little bit chunky. I am a firm
believer that you shouldn’t be restricted in what you wear because of your
size, wear whatever the fuck you want and feel confident in doing so! Get those
legs out girl.
If you have any tips for being plus in the sun, leave them
below! And don’t forget to give this post a like, comment and share to support
